Rocker rolls on into high-tech world without CDs

by Andrew Murfett, The Age

The next phase in the evolution of the humble record is being spearheaded by an unlikely innovator. Veteran Australian rocker Jimmy Barnes is taking a bold step away from the world of CDs by selling his new album in a unique format: via a USB wristband.

The wristband, which Barnes will sell on his current tour will cost $40. As well as including his latest album Out In The Blue in electronic file form, it is bundled with a live show from his halcyon years in 1984, along with videos, photos and biographies.

This new album project has been incredibly successful and we are very grateful that Jimmy has such a passion for music and a really solid understanding of technology that allow us to present it to his audience on the newest format available.
